GPT presents its new, high power, 'plug & play', modular Power Factor 

Rehovot, Israel - October 19, 2004 - Green Power Technologies (GPT) announces the release of its innovative Smart Power-Factor-Correction GPTM product line. 

GPT’s GPTM module is a complete Active Power Factor Correction stage, enabling a low component count and simple solution for high power active power factor correction. It meets and exceeds the requirements of the standards related harmonic current injection into the power line - now acceptable as a norm worldwide. The GPTM is a ‘matchbox’ size device that includes the entire control circuitry as well as its auxiliary; power MOSFET and PFC diode in one package. It is based on GPT's innovative and patented PFC control concept and PFC modular approach. A highly reliable, robust and efficient APFC front end can be easily and quickly designed by just adding the external line rectifier, inductor and the output capacitor. 

The GPTM provides a complete universal line power factor stage for 1K-3.5K Watt power range. Its robust control circuitry and smart construction permits the placement of the input inductor and line rectifier anywhere in the equipment's housing. This unique product frees the designer from dealing with control loops, compensation networks and greatly simplifies the system design. 

The GPTM is able to start up under full load conditions and maintains stable output voltage over a wide range of operating conditions. Integrated fast overvoltage, cycle-by-cycle and average overcurrent and overtemperature protections, ensure high reliability even under rugged operating conditions. The GPTM is an excellent solution for high power applications such as servers, TV sets, network application, and medical equipment.
