Rehovot, Israel - June 8, 2004 - Green Power Technologies (GPT) announces the release of its innovative Smart Power-Factor-Correction IC GPTACXX Series product family. GPT's GPTAC integrated device is a smart, low cost and simple solution for active power factor correction. 

The GPTAC is a 5 pin TO220/TO247 device that includes a controller and power MOSFET in one package. It is based on GPT's innovative and patented PFC control concept and PFC modular approach. A highly reliable, robust and efficient APFC front end can be easily and quickly designed by just adding a few Passive components to the GPTAC. 

The GPTAC provides a complete power factor stage for up to a 700W power level. Its robust control circuitry and smart construction permits the placement of the input inductor and line rectifier anywhere in the equipment's housing. This unique product frees the designer from dealing with control loops, compensation networks and greatly simplifies the PCB design. 

The GPTAC based system is able to start up under full load conditions and maintains stable output voltage over a wide range of operating conditions. Integrated fast overvoltage protection, cycle-by-cycle and average overcurrent protection, and overtemperature protection, ensure high reliability even under rugged operating conditions. The GPTAC is an excellent solution for low-mid power applications such as personal computers, ballasts, mobile computing adaptors and flat panel monitors.
